New Year to April 1st in a blink!

As the sun was setting on the 31st March I thought back over the last three months since January 1st.

January, February and March are traditionally our most tricky months here at Shaw's and there have been days where it really hasn't been worth opening but then there have been other days that have completely blown us away and we have been unseasonably busy! I would like to thank our wonderful customers; regular and irregular for supporting us here at Shaw's. Thank you for bringing your enthusiasm and passion for cooking and eating great food.

I feel really proud of some the exciting products we have been fortunate to bring you in this time. The Yorkshire Rhubarb, what a treat. The Jersey Royals and first British asparagus. Such a shame the cold nights and cold ground temperatures are affecting supply but hopefully given slightly warmer spells there will be more consistency.

That first batch of agretti brought such joy to our foodie friends. The different fruits to tempt you caused great conversation. The King oyster mushrooms prompted such a lot of creativity in the kitchen. It has been so uplifting seeing the pictures you sent into us. Keep on doing that please!

It is so rewarding when people are talking with us about the produce available and show a real interest.

We are hoping the 1st April goes with a bang and we kick off the next quarter as we mean to go on. I am really looking forward to seeing what fresh produce April, May and June bring us.

I hope you enjoy the reminder below of just a small selection of the produce we have had in.

With love and gratitude, Cat x
